Our shop windows overlook the world famous street of Rome Via Veneto, because we thought that this exceptional place, in the heart of Italy’s capital, would have been the only residence for our passion: fish cookery.
Tuna in fact, offers an unrepeatable experience, a union of the senses turned to taste the most delicious and fresh fish.
A project, more than a restaurant, that has the intent to let you travel through the genuine and traditional flavors of our cookery, in an assortment of emotions beginning since the view of our selection of fishes choosen among the best auctions, fishermen, ports ... and dayly admired by a crowd of walkers that astonished by such huge and unusual freshness, take pictures of them, letting us think that those snapshots are dedicated to the "Dolce Vita", as the great movie director Federico Fellini has defined the high life of Rome.
Our project has already received customers and appreciations from all over the world, and we can only say thank you !
THE PROJECT
Tuna was born in April, 2008, when a group of friends decided to make a breakthrough they always wanted: Tuna.
A sumptuous and spectacular spot in the center of Rome, in the most famous street of Italy’s capital, made to become the temple of the most genuine sea cookery and of the most ruthless selection of high quality wines.
Emanuela, Fabrizio, Mauro brought their respective competencies and characteristics to the restaurant. How it's been written "is impossible non to see in the center of the capital, the majestic shop windows of the Tuna tha promises only pleasure".
The setting, the cookery and the wines list have been carefully thought, not without the support of some of the most well known experts of the three sectors. All this to offer e find again that uniqueness of flavors on which is based the simplicity or the wisdom of the plate: that is the result of a very accurate selection of the raw materials.
The fishes, from crayfish to sea truffles, from oysters to sea-urchin, passing by giant amber fishes, is the best that can be found on the market. With such a raw material, the architecture of every single plate is turned to show not to hide, to unveal instead to elaborate.
The wines list is a bet: a challenge that does not show a crowd of unpronounceable labels o non sense vintages, but that guarantees a selection of high quality, constant, made by a well known international critic.
No anonymous or trivial wines are allowed at Tuna, you will not find wines that “must have”. You will find best wines, best labels eand vintages, of all prices. Prices that allow us wine tasting. You will delight yourself with “pearls” and “dedicated” wines, that some european wine growers reserved to us in exclusive.
Last but not least, you will also find sweets that Emanuela still wants to prepare personally, to fully fullfill Tuna ‘s project: that is a tenacious and painstaking search of high quality.
